Copyright

Copyrights protect the original copy of the artists that created it. There wouldn't be any money made if there wasn't any copyright. As a poor student i feel that copyright is "dumb." But as a adult, copyright is necessary. As a teacher i would hope a lot of companies will be lenient to us. I would hate to have to go through a bunch of loops just to get a video to show in one class.

Copyright law provides educators with a separate set of rights in addition to fair use, to display (show) and perform (show or play) others' works in the classroom. These rights are in Section 110(1) of the Copyright Act and apply to any work, regardless of the medium

The TEACH Act expands the scope of educators' rights to perform and display works and to make the copies integral to such performances and displays for digital distance education, making the rights closer to those we have in face-to-face teaching.

Cross Curriculum

This is a great idea. Being able to use two different curriculum's would be really beneficial to the students. The students are learning an ability to debate and are learning about health. The students are also working in groups to help collaborate as a unit to learn teamwork skills. The students are basically learning ways of getting information. They found many different ways on how to retrieve information, through, internet and newspapers.

College vs. K-12

At the college level every point they made in this video are correct. The question is....is technology saving us? Not every choice there is was one that I will choose. We are finally given choices in college and sometimes we don't know what to do with it. The problem college students have is that we are given everything through out school and when we get to college we are asked to think for ourselves. The k-12 video showed us as teachers that we need to be open to the digital age. Teach the students the benefits of digital works, and how to used them effectively.

Internet as a tool for communications

This activity was used to show how we can use the internet to communicate with others. The school in Virgina communicated with a school in Missouri. The students collected pictures of spiders from the area and then put the pictures on the computer and sent them to the school with a little description attached. Very interesting to see grade school students using the internet to connect with other students they have never seen.

fourth blog

The objective of this was to learn new information through the internet. The teacher wants the children to be able to answer questions in any way they can. What are the reasons for the seasons? The teacher questions the students. At the end she reflects on the students and she finally rates what the students had learned in the activity. This teacher does a real good job of specifically telling the students what they are doing. She leaves very small room for confusion. She does a good job of incorporating every student.

Interview video

I liked how the teacher used all the technology she had. The smart board, Microsoft word, digital camera, photo shop. The teacher did a very good job at teaching professionalism and ways to work in a professional manner.

Broadcasting

This was pretty cool I did this while I was in school but not until my senior year of high school when a group of us had to make a commercial for a company. It was interesting though because the students weren't very old and they probably knew more than I did about the technology. I thought it was very cool how it was peer to peer teaching. This tells me that the teacher might have done a great job with the first group that the students were able to teach other students. It also seemed that the students had the right equipment for what they wanted to accomplish.
